STD- A Speed Date Style, Networking Event

Everyone knows you can get STD's from dating. 

Traditional networking often feels as painful as a raging STD. 

How is it that two of life's most potentially awkward events are deemed necessary to our success in life, career and love?

The funny thing is, many brilliant, creative business owners are also self-described introverts. Even for the extroverted attention-loving biz owner, doesn't networking feel a bit like pulling teeth? Does anyone else feel like the first day of high school when you walk into a room full of suits talking about their 8-bit nano silicone micro chip i-phone app they are launching... HUH?

So while dating might be eased by a loud bar and drinks, networking remains one of those often avoided chores that wastes time and results in a pocket full of business cards you grabbed just to end a series of  awkward conversations with someone who you'll never actually contact.

On July 14th a group of 30 Progressive, Self-Starting, Creative Biz owners & individuals will come together and stoke their creative fires on the topics that they think about all day, every day.  You'll get a chance to offer your services and products, ask for something you may be needing to take your business to the next level, and meet like-minded NOLA based business owners.

When we say "Speed Date Style" it simply means you'll get 3 minutes each with 15 other people in the room to introduce yourself, talk about your business and brag about what you do. Then the other person will do the same. If you get stuck you can pick a prompt to get you rolling. Trust us, these prompts alone are worth the price of a ticket.... oh wait, its free! But seriously, it's going to be so rad you guys!

So, the networking part?

That's where you wear a t-shirt with your biz name on it and get to come to an event where you're expected to brag all about what you do. Get loud and proud about what you are putting into the world and meet others who are doing what you do. Building your biz from the ground up. You meet someone who can tell you where to find a great CPA or stylist for your product launch + you get to share the love by sharing your contacts with others who need them. After a firestorm of speed networking.... we'll have a few hours to circulate and meet the other people in the room you didn't get to talk with.

Our way of helping you get together some Q+A's, a sexy elevator line, and some alternative phrases for the boring opening line "So, what do you do?"

You might also want to consider ordering up some business cards or creative promo items to hand out to the people you connect with and want to work with again.
